One of the GCSE Design Briefs this year is:
'Design a 12v light influenced by your study of Philippe Starck'
So I have been playing with this lately, the Juicy Salif being his most famous design was an obvious starting point.
Think, War of the worlds, Salif and Light...
 
So these are quick mock ups to inspire students of the potential of such a cool design brief. Even Tesco cups get turned into real working lights...
 
 
 
The light could fold into a tube and has a ball and socket joint in this mock up.
The adjustable legs are fun and functional, the light 'squats' just above your work.
The height is good so it is below your eye level but shines onto your work.
