John Bull Antique Chisel restoration complete.
Fitted with a Rosewood handle to Match my Sorby's
For scale I have put them together - that is a 25mm Sorby dwarfed by the big un.

The Steel is simply wonderful, got a plaster on to prove it.
Just brushed past my finger, surgical precision...

The back was hollowed and concave, in both directions - just a little bit.
So many old chisels have big fat belly's.
So it tuned up lovely.

Don't you just love those square forged tangs?
I like to think that they kept the best steel for us, while we exported steel...

Umm.. hand blown lead crystal glass in the background.
Unsure what is in it as I do not drink anymore apparently.
