Japanese Saw handle in Cedar.

That is a very tight fitting 0.6mm slot by the way...

Time to cut the grooves to hide the bindings in...
Its all in Odate's book BUT I actually figured this procedure all out myself,
when I was but a young teenager, binding bamboo in my bedroom!
Then I grow up and find it in a book...

Its a double goove at this point...

Jobs a good un.
Since the photo was taken it has been
Sealed with my own fresh homemade shellac...

  2. Hi Michael, it was cord I got at a ship Chandlers. I went into a lovely one in Dartmouth and left with loads of cool fixtures in stainless steel and lots of cord, I have a reel in white as well but thought black would make it more unusal! You can goggle it and get some interesting suppliers - hope that helps?
