Japanese Kanna in Goncalo Alves with Old Blade.
 

Notice how much folded over metal I had to grind off after
repeated hitting with steel hammer by previous Japanese owner!
It is an old knackered blade.
Also below you can see the 2 shiny bearing surfaces the plane glides on,
all other areas are relieved.


 
Fine close mouth - but Mimi or ears on blade need grinding back a little.
The plane was another test really, I am not going to fit a chipbreaker as intended.
 
It works OK but it just didn't develop a SOUL as I made it.
Although the wood was nice it does not sing or feel friendly....
 
It will be hidden away in both toolbox and back of my mind.
A learning experience, a new Dai for this blade I will make...
