New Boxwood Mitre Plane

From earlier posts regular readers will have seen I had
plenty more of that spalted Box for planes.
So as I am on holiday a slighty longer project could be started I thought.
I am too busy for anything else.....

I had to make a special saw for this cut.

Using an African Blackwood mouth closer I had already made as a spare.
Iron fits fine now, just over 2 hours work so far.
I might be getting a little faster now I know what I am doing!

  2. Hi Michael,
I will publish some sizes when I have it done.
I am making 2 almost the same but slightly different sizes and proportions, so will be better placed to answer this when I establish which is the better of the two.
I have spent many hours trawling the net for info, as we all do! Not much out there, so I am just using the Mitre planes out there as a guide. I must get round to emailing Bill again...
Would love to see the plane when you get it done!
    All the best,
    Berin.
